![]() At CLAWS: From June 2008 Contact at: [email protected] About the Researcher :Since May 2017, Dr. Monika Chansoria is based in Tokyo on an extended academic tenure as a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA). Dr. Chansoria is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Land Warfare Studies. She received her Ph.D in International Relations from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious French Hérmes FMSH Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Paris. She specialises in contemporary Asian security, weapons’ proliferation issues, great power politics and strategy in the Indo-Pacific with special focus on China. Dr. Chansoria has been a recipient of many prominent international academic fellowships, including successive stints at the Cooperative Monitoring Center (Sandia National Laboratories, USA), Japanese Global Chair of Excellence Fellowship (Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan) and the MSH Senior Fellowship as Visiting Professor and Associate Director of Studies (Paris). She is a regular participant in Track 1.5 & 2 diplomatic dialogues and contributes to national and international dailies. Besides, she writes regular columns on foreign policy and strategic affairs for newspapers published out of India and Japan, namely, The Sunday Guardian and The Sankei Shimbun. |
