He has held the appointment of Director MO-5 in the Military Operations Directorate at Army HQ and Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Doctrine, Organisation and Training branch). He has served as a Military Observer in UNTAG, Namibia. He commanded an Artillery Regiment in active Counter-Insurgency operations in the Kashmir Valley and an Infantry Brigade on the Line of Control during Operation Parakram. He took pre-mature retirement to pursue his interest in writing and Defence affairs full time and has worked in several think-tanks such as IDSA, ORF and CAPS before assuming the appointment of Director CLAWS. |
