Career Profile An alumnus of National Defence Academy who was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery on 31 March 1972. A Silver Gunner who has undergone the Long Gunnery Staff Course, Staff College and is a graduate of the National Defence College. He has commanded a Medium Regiment and a Composite Artillery Brigade. He was Deputy Director General at Perspective Planning Directorate, Major General Artillery of an operational Command, Commandant of Selection Centre South in Bangalore and Additional Director General Artillery dealing with procurement and operations at Army Headquarters. The officer was responsible for the procurement of equipment. The officer retired on 31 December 2010. He has also served as the Defence Attaché to Vietnam and is a prolific writer on strategic subjects. Academic Qualification The officer is a Ph. D from Hindustan University, Chennai and M. Phil from Madras University. Post-retirement the officer was appointed as an Advisor to Brahmos Aerospace Private Limited which is a Joint Venture between India and Russia. He remained with them for three years and is currently a Defence Analyst. He has written books, articles and projects for IDSA, USI, CLAWS, VIF and numerous periodicals. Areas of Interest His areas of interest are Strategy, Firepower, Defence Procurement, Net Assessment, South and South East Asia Indo Pacific and Left Wing Extremism. The officer is also associated with projects and articles of the Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi. |
